Rodolfo Zunino obtained the “Laurea” degree cum laude in Electronic Engineering from Genoa University in 1985. From 1986 to 1995 he was a research consultant with the Department of Biophysical and Electronic Engineering (DIBE) of Genoa University. He is currently Full Professor at DITEN, where he teaches Embedded Systems and Cybersecurity. His main scientific interests include efficient models for data representation and learning, intelligent electronic systems  for neural networks, intelligent systems for security, and advanced methods for multimedia data processing.
Rodolfo Zunino coauthored more than 260 refereed papers in International Journals and Conferences. He participated in the Scientific Committees of several International Conferences on neural networks and their applications. He has chaired the Master Course (II lev) in Cyber Security at the University of Genova.

Paolo Gastaldo obtained the “Laurea” degree in Electronic Engineering (1999) and a PhD in Space Sciences and Engineering (2004), both from the University of Genoa, Italy. In 2004 he joined the Department of Biophysical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Genoa, where he was the recipient of a research grant on Intelligent Systems for Visual Quality Estimation sponsored by Philips Research Labs - Eindhoven (NL). From 2011 he is with the Smart Embedded Applications Laboratory (SEALab) at the Dept of Electrical, Electronics, and Telecommunication Engineering and Naval Architecture, DITEN, University of Genoa, where he currently holds a  position of Asscoiate Professor. His main research interests are in the field of embedded machine learning, machine learning for computer vision, embedded systems for advanced signal interpretation in robotics and prosthesics, and intelligent systems for cybersecurity. He coauthored more than 100 refereed papers in International Journals and Conferences.

Giuliano Donzellini graduated in Electronic Engineering from the University of Genoa in 1980. After an initial experience in the Civil Telecommunications Division of the Marconi Italiana (Genoa), he joined the DIBE (Department of Biophysical and Electronic Engineering, now DITEN, Department of Electrical, Electronic, Telecommunication Engineering and Naval Architecture) of the University of Genoa, Italy, as Assistant Professor. He worked on automated instrumentation systems for measurement, arbitrary waveform generators, image analysis systems, process control systems, architectures for digital phase-locked systems, object-oriented microcontroller architectures and topographic surveying techniques with VLF and ELF. Currently he is involved in hardware and software simulation of digital devices for teaching computer-assisted and distance learning, and has developed a specific software environment for learning digital electronics (the Deeds, "Digital Electronics Education and Design Suite"), which covers the areas of analysis and synthesis of combinational and sequential logic networks, finite state machine design, microcomputer programming, embedded systems, FPGA programming and design with the use of HDL languages. He has been involved in several EU projects dealing with issues in electronic design and e-Learning.

Edoardo Ragusa obtained the Master's degree cum laude in Electronic Engineering and a PhD in Electronic Engineering (2018), both from Genoa University, Italy. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at DITEN, University of Genoa, where he teaches one part of the course Elettronica dei sistemi digitali. He coauthored more than 25 refereed papers in International Journals and Conferences and is a reviewer for several IEEE, Springer, and Elsevier journals and conferences. He is currently contributing as Topic Editor to MPDI Electronics. He was the invited speaker at workshop WISDOM'20 (Workshop on Issues of Sentiment Discovery and Opinion Mining) of the conference Knowledge Data Discovery (KDD) 2020 and workshop "Sentic Computing" during the conference IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence, 2020.
His research interests include machine learning in resource-constrained devices, convolutional neural networks, sentiment analysis, and deep learning applications.
